Special installations & free events
1. Behind the Scenes photo exhibition
LabKorner and YellowKorner have curated a free outdoor exhibition of large‑format photographs focusing on artisans’ hands. The images will be displayed at Place des Petits‑Pères, Place Saint‑Sulpice and Place Saint‑Germain‑des‑Prés as well as in selected showrooms. The installation reinforces the “Behind the Scenes” theme and offers a contemplative counterpoint to the busy showrooms.
2. Giant lamps & colossal decor
One of the event’s signature features returns in 2026: enormous fabric‑clad lamps suspended above the streets to guide visitors from one district to another. In addition, oversized furniture pieces created by Schumacher, Le Jacquard Français, Thevenon and Houlès decorate squares such as Saint‑Germain‑des‑Prés, Furstemberg and Petits‑Pères. The installations transform everyday city squares into whimsical outdoor living rooms.

3. Festival of fabrics & decorated facades
During Paris Déco Off the Festival of Fabrics invites participating houses to drape building facades and window fronts with their new textiles. Landmark sites such as the Hôtel de l’Industrie and the Bar du Moulin are dressed in curtains, wallpapers and trimmings. Expect to see entire streets turned into theatrical fabric displays – a perfect photo opportunity.

4. Charity concert
On 16 January 2026 (8:30–10:00 p.m.) the church of Saint‑Germain‑des‑Prés hosts “The Hands That Save, The Hand That Creates,” a charity concert in aid of the Hand Surgery Institute. The event brings together musicians and artisans to celebrate manual skill and artistry.
Must‑visit showrooms & new collections
With more than 150 participating houses, it’s impossible to see everything. Here are some highlights to prioritise:

Planning your visit
Create your route with the free shuttle
Because showrooms are scattered across two neighbourhoods, the free shuttle service is the easiest way to navigate. The buses operate continuously between Place des Petits‑Pères, Place Saint‑Germain and Place Saint‑Sulpice. On Saturday a special evening route runs later into the night so visitors can enjoy illuminated installations and late‑night openings.
Allow time to wander
Part of the charm of Paris Déco Off is its open‑air gallery ambience. Beyond the showrooms, the streets themselves become exhibition spaces: fabric‑draped facades, giant lamps and photographic billboards invite lingering. Plan breaks to enjoy cafés and bistros in Saint‑Germain‑des‑Prés or near Rue du Mail; there is no better way to absorb Parisian design culture than by sitting with a coffee while watching designers and decorators stroll past.
Combine with Maison & Objet
Paris Déco Off overlaps with the winter edition of Maison & Objet (15–19 January 2026). Wallpaper* notes that the two events together serve as a barometer of upcoming design trends, drawing buyers, decorators and the design press. If you’re in Paris for Déco Off, consider spending a day at Maison & Objet in Villepinte to see the broader furniture market; then return to the city centre for the more intimate showroom experience.
Why Paris Déco Off matters
Paris Déco Off has grown into one of the most influential off‑site events on the design calendar. By opening the doors of heritage houses and boutique studios alike, the festival blurs the line between trade fair and public exhibition. The 2026 theme “Behind the Scenes” shines a spotlight on the often‑hidden craftspeople whose skills make beautiful interiors possible. Whether you’re an industry professional seeking new collections or simply a design enthusiast, the event’s mix of creativity, accessibility and conviviality makes it a must‑see this January.
So bundle up, download the official map, and prepare for four days of fabric exploration, neighbourhood wandering, giant lamps and behind‑the‑scenes stories. Paris’s winter design carnival awaits!
