1. General Terms of Trade
1.1 All contracts entered into with Studio 198 Ltd are subject to these Terms & Conditions. These terms supersede any prior terms or conditions contained in any documents issued by the customer. By placing an order, you confirm acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. Any amendments must be agreed in writing by a Director of Studio 198 Ltd.
1.2 Prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling (GBP).

UK orders include VAT unless otherwise stated.

Orders outside the UK may exclude VAT, subject to applicable regulations.
Written quotations are valid for ten (10) working days and are issued subject to errors and omissions excepted.
1.3 Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for any delay or failure in performance resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, epidemics, natural disasters, strikes, or government actions. Payment obligations shall not be suspended. Written notice must be provided within thirty (30) days of the event occurring, and reasonable efforts must be made to mitigate its impact.
2. Promotional Codes
2.1 Only one promotional code may be used per transaction.
2.2 Studio 198 Ltd reserves the right to cancel or amend any order where a promotional code has been used in conjunction with other discounts or in breach of promotional terms.
3. Orders & Payment
3.1 All goods remain the property of Studio 198 Ltd until full payment has been received. Customers may resell goods supplied, but any proceeds must be held in trust for Studio 198 Ltd until payment has been completed in full.
3.2 Payment details are provided at checkout or upon invoice. Accepted payment methods and bank details will be supplied where applicable.
3.3 All orders are subject to stock availability. Custom, bespoke, or made-to-order items cannot be cancelled once payment has been received and production has commenced.
3.4 Where applicable, a Cutting for Approval (CFA) may be required due to dye lot or material variation. Orders will not proceed without written CFA approval or waiver. Once approved or waived, the goods are deemed accepted and are non-returnable.
4. Product Specifications & Natural Variations
4.1 Many of our products are natural, bespoke, or handmade. Variations in colour, texture, grain, size, or finish are inherent characteristics and are not considered faults.
4.2 Fabrics and wallcoverings sourced from U.S. suppliers are supplied in yards and may be subject to minimum order quantities. Leather is sold by the hide and will vary in size, colour, and texture.
4.3 Studio 198 Ltd is not responsible for calculating quantities required. Customers must consult their installer, upholsterer, or contractor before ordering.
4.4 Incorrect installation, misuse, or failure to follow care instructions voids any responsibility on the part of Studio 198 Ltd.
4.5 Colour matching across future production batches cannot be guaranteed. Customers are advised to order at least 15% extra to allow for repairs or future replacements.
5. Inspection, Claims & Complaints
5.1 All goods must be checked immediately upon receipt for quantity, colour, and specification accuracy.
5.2 Any faults, discrepancies, or damage must be reported in writing within ten (10) working days of delivery and before goods are cut, treated, installed, or used.
5.3 For wallpaper, if a fault is suspected, installation must stop immediately after three (3) drops and Studio 198 Ltd must be contacted with photographic evidence.
5.4 No claims will be accepted for labour costs, installation costs, or consequential losses.
5.5 Complaints must be submitted by email and supported with clear photographs. Site inspections may be arranged at Studio 198 Ltd’s discretion. If goods are found to be within acceptable manufacturing tolerances, inspection or collection costs may be charged to the customer.
6. Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs)
6.1 Minimum order quantities are clearly stated on relevant product pages. Customers are responsible for ensuring their order meets the stated MOQ before completing checkout.
6.2 If an order is placed below the published MOQ, Studio 198 Ltd will contact the customer to provide options to amend the order.
6.3 If the customer chooses to cancel rather than amend an incorrectly placed order, a 10% administrative fee will be deducted from the refund.
7. International Orders
7.1 Customers placing international orders are responsible for all local taxes, import duties, customs charges, and clearance fees.
7.2 Refusal to pay applicable import charges resulting in returned or abandoned goods will incur return shipping costs and may be subject to restocking fees.
7.3 Unclaimed or rejected goods may result in further action to recover associated costs.
8. Chargebacks & Returned Goods
By placing an order with Studio 198 Ltd, you agree that:
8.1 All orders are final unless an approved return is initiated in accordance with our Returns Policy.
8.2 Merchandise that has been delivered and retained without timely return authorisation is not eligible for chargeback refunds.
8.3 Chargebacks may not be used for reasons such as “ordering by mistake” or similar circumstances where goods have been delivered in accordance with the order.
8.4 Retaining delivered merchandise without payment or authorised return is considered non-payment and may result in debt recovery or legal action.
8.5 If a chargeback is filed and resolved in favour of the customer while goods are retained, the customer remains responsible for either returning the goods in saleable condition or paying the outstanding balance in full.
9. Display Products & Availability
9.1 Products displayed with a price of £0 are not available for direct purchase and are shown for reference only. Please contact Studio 198 Ltd for further information.
9.2 For purchases below minimum order levels, customers are encouraged to contact us before placing an order.
