Kubb draws inspiration from the traditional Kuba cloth of western Africa, specifically the Democratic Republic of Congo. In this culture, men collect and dye raffia leaves while women create various textiles from the cloth. The fabric undergoes a process of softening before being woven. Kubb incorporates the primitive shapes and simple geometries of Kuba cloth but updates it with a modern colour palette. The base cloth is a ribbed cotton screen printed in soft, livable colors, making it suitable for upholstery and coordinating well with Panamania.
