Rubelli
Sumptuous damask reproposing a large repeat decorative motif from the late 18th century, reinterpreted in the revival style typical of the eclectic movement in Europe in the second half of the 19th century. This relief damask is a blend of cotton and silk in which a luxurious flowery bouquet is framed by large leaves terminating in volutes represented by curved acanthus leaves. The combination of yarns in this fabric originates in the Caffart damasks very popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, produced with mixed yarns – silk warp, linen, cotton or wool wefts – and used mainly for furnishing.
