The design for Liesl Lattice began with an original intaglio print by Elizabeth “Liesl” Monath, a composition of intersecting forms and translucent layers. The piece was created through etching, where ink is pressed into the carved surface of a metal plate to reveal depth, texture and tone.

The Vale London reimagined this print as a repeating lattice motif, translating the structured geometry of Liesl’s handwork into a modern wallcovering. Printed on a textured paperweave ground and available in four colours, Liesl Lattice captures the balance of precision and artistry that defined her work, tactile, architectural and quietly expressive.
