Rubelli
Velvet which reproduces the original sixteenth-century fabrics established as manufactured in Venice. The decoration is created by stylised acanthus branches which form meshes ringed with crowns. Taken from a document kept in the Rubelli historic company archive and known as the velvet of the “Procuratori di San Marco”, the sophisticated shades are accurately reproduced in this new version. Here the ancient Venetian technique of cut-pile velvet is reworked with contemporary techniques which produce the same noble and rich results as the original. As for the colour palette, alongside a classic core of burnt and red shades a series of contemporary colourways are presented.
